Guillermo del Toro my clone...

First of not only is there a physical resemblance, his love for longcoats (dusters), his physical mannerisms and jovial humor also akin to me (behind the scenes with Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy). Personally He is one of my favorite Directors, so having this link is an honour. It was first pointed out to me by one of my students.

THE IRONY COMES UP NOW:
My roommate was a dead ringer for Peter Jackson (in his 'big' days, not his scary skinny ones now) he even wore the same type of shorts n cloths (not intentionally) and his cat is a Russian blue just like the one Jackson was seen with (behind the scenes again.) Maybe Matt could concur on that for he has seen him.

THE IRONY:
Both are working together to make 'The Hobbit', which sounds to be 2 movies instead of one.
This should be awesome :) so the 2 roommates have their clones at work for you :)

From Steak to Spam

It's been a while, but here is a quick update. I am fighting and losing with my depression, until I break free from the debt prison (Oct-Nov 2009 EST over 10 years of my life) it will always be with me. I am very thankful for my friends, and coworkers that keep me going.

I have given up on a job that makes me happy (Steak) and looking wider (Spam). I need to have a new Job and say goodbye to Starbucks, it's hard cause a lot of 'Spam' does not pay as good as what I currently am making at the bux (6 years of raises). Looking for another Starbucks a slower one can not guaranty the hrs I need.

So off to craig's list and beyond, take care.

The Update

On a positive side, my portfolio printed out on conceptualized, allows me to realize what more I need. Tax forms turned in, and my Release forms to IADT where handed in. Due to weather my friend was a bit late, but thanks to Chris (A MAJOR THANKS) I did not have to worry about rushing everything to get to work for 3:15pm.

Did not even Get back to Trebas until 3pm, took the elevator up... Have you Seen Disney's Atlantis? you know the old lady with the cigarette "We're all going to die", Greeted me from behind the desk. No Tours, No Contact, nadda. Positive side 2 even though the site says there are not hiring, she was still willing to take my resume and forward it to someone...

Time will tell, I will be following up Monday or Tuesday. Also I had sent off an email to Mr. Leonard letting him know I was coming by Friday, on Thursday, and also asking if they were hiring, and as I type still no response.

I really, Really have to thank Chris T. though, no of this would of been able to happen without his quick help, Hopefully you will take the steak dinner over the sex slave :P

Possible Job opening?

thats right, when I was not looking, opportunity knocked. I had decided to go for a burger at the pub in my building (cheap burger night) and first off I was greeted by Christine my waitress (She had worked at the bar a few years back and had returned).

We started chatting, She going into Graphic design, I told hear about my Teaching at the IADT, and how it was now overwith, and the people in the next booth quietly interrupted to ask for the bill, and the one man asked if I was in post production, I told him a bit more about myself, and he introduce his Colleague, who was the President of Trebas (Our rival in the city) andwe started chatting, they have now moved into the second Story of my building, and he asked if I could stop by to talk, left me his Card and shook hands.

So now I wrestle to get time off Starbucks to visit with my newly forming portfolio. I just want to teach again, I loved it.


UPDATE:
Slowly the bubble starts to deflate....website says the are not hiring.....hmmm it may of been an attempt to get me as a student? but the conversation did not feel that was, they had talked about a few that they had hired from IADT when they closed....will not give up...

Chris has agreed to take my Friday Shift so I have all day now to put together and print up some images and arrange a meeting on Friday!
